His Holiness Vrajendra nandan Swami went to England from Malaysia to study Engineering. He was living in Birmingham at a YMCA.
He met ISKCON members there while they were distributing Srila Prabhupada literatures. He was induced to take the books, he liked the books and finally he took the books.
He was studying there and he started coming gradually to the Birmingham temple at Hemsworth where he again met the devotees and he took more books.
From then on also took the devotees to the Universities, local colleges and Indians to distribute Srila Prabhupada books and literatures. Later on he joined the Bury place temple, a very simple and humble temple where he would do humble service like cutting vegetable and other menial services. He was initiated in London and was working very hard to distribute Prabhupada books. He was once given a bus to lead a travelling sankirtan party. He was a very good book distributor.
Once he also went to Ireland and distributed books throughout the country. When he came back from England he was in India, especially Kolkata, and he used to go for making life-membership. The local people there used to like him very much because of his humble nature. Whenever he made a request they would readily offer him a place to take rest and lie down or offer him something eat. For some time he was in Kolkata and then later on he went back to Malaysia.
After some time he went to Bangladesh, he was very well received there. The authorities there wanted him to help collect money for Bangladesh and he helped. He travelled across Malaysia, the whole country, north to south, going to the managers of rubber plantations and palm estates and other big people from Indian communities, making them life members, he was helping...collect money from life membership and the money-donation was sent to Bangladesh. He accepted the renounced order of life or sannyasa having received sannyasa initiation from His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, another dear disciple of Srila Prabhupada. Maharaj also served as the president of ISKCON Malayasia.
Later on, as he got older and found it difficult to travel he used to come to Chennai, Mayapur festival and spending some time at Vrindavan; he would come especially to attend Mayapur festival and come to Chennai. During the beginning days of ISKCON Vrindavan, in the early days,Maharaj used to serve as the temple commander there. He was made spiritual master and he has some disciples, mostly in Malaysia. Once his health condition became very critical that even the doctors were unable to ascertain the outcome of the treatment, under such precarious conditions, fighting between the uncertainties of life, when people would not have an equilibrium of thoughts, Maharaj was remembering some of his dear godbrothers and spoke to them over the phone. He was crying and expressed his desire to see them because speaking to them, seeing them he could remember the days with Srila Prabhupada. It is very special.
Even at the most critical period of life he was remembering his spiritual master and hankered for the association of his dear godbrothers. He was a very simple person, very meek and humble. Whenever I saw him, his characteristics stands out... always very meek and humble. I feel it is a great loss to many devotees. They will miss him and remember...his simplicity...His Holiness Bhakti Vrajendranandan Swami. Many devotees will remember him for a long time.
